八面玲珑的狐人少女，天舶司商团「鸣火」的首席代表。
A silver-tongued foxian girl, Tingyun is the Head Representative of the Whistling Flames, a merchant guild officially approved by the Sky-Faring Commission.
停云天生生得一副慧心妙舌，但凡她开口，人们就免不了想听她多说几句。在她的调度下，仙舟的贸易庆典逐渐声名远扬。
She has such a way with words that often leaves her audience eagerly waiting for more of her captivating tales. As a result of her supervision, the Xianzhou trade fairs are now known throughout the cosmos.
能不战斗就尽量不去战斗，能劝为己用就尽量劝为己用——这便是停云的原则。
"Try one's best to avoid conflict when possible, and persuade those who can be persuaded" — that's Tingyun's motto.
角色故事·一 Character Story: Part I
世人常道：「狐人天生会行商」。若在茶馆「不夜侯」多作盘桓，便能深刻体会到这一事实。
There's a saying: "Foxians are born to do business." Linger a little while at the Sleepless Earl teahouse, and you'll come to appreciate this fact.
「您有所不知，」那狐人女子一面摇着那柄精美绝伦的聚骨扇，一面盯着眼前将信将疑的男人，「一方水土养得一方生灵。若将苦水之邦的沙枳籽种移栽至翁瓦克的圣壤中，便能结成甜蜜沉重的炽阳橘。那自然是因为翁瓦克四风调和，土壤肥沃。而把塔拉萨的灯鱼苗引入敝邦，交由鳞渊境的持明族悉心培育，则可令灯鱼体长倍增至三尺有余。」
"There's something you don't know," says that foxian woman, wafting her exquisite reticulated fan as she gazes at the skeptical man before her, "different lands raise their special type of life. If Sandcitrus seeds from the Bitterwater Confederacy are transplanted into the sacred soils of Vonwacq, then they will grow into sweet oranges. This is naturally due to the fertile and balanced soils of Vonwacq. And if the lightfish fry from Thalassa are introduced to my world and raised by the Vidyadhara at Scalegorge Waterscape, they can double in size to over three feet long."

"The Whistling Flames' latest plan is to carefully select species with commercial potential, and relay them via trade starskiffs for safe transport. Within one month, you'll get the first batch of goods back. These goods would add to the glamours of the crystal palace at the bottom of the Thalassan abyss, and can even become a unique trading products for your nation."

The man with gills blows out a few bubbles, which represents a slightly hesitant agreement in his culture. Then, his larynx pronounces some wondrous syllables: "I thought the Whistling Flames were speculative traders involved in arbitrage. Are you planning to change the current situation in the logistics industry, where the IPC reigns supreme? Tell me, how much do you want?"

这一日，停云不仅谈成了一笔生意，更为联盟结交了一位长久的朋友。
On this day, Tingyun not only closed on a deal, but also formed a new friendship for the Alliance.
角色故事·二 Character Story: Part II
停云自幼便不同凡响。
Tingyun was always different from the others.
要知道，狐人天生便是「眼疾手快」的代名词——他们那闪电般的神经反射和敏锐的感官造就了这点，而这也使得狐人幼时大多淘气顽皮，讨俏得很。可停云呢？这位耳朵尖尖的小女孩总一副绵绵软软的模样，逢人不仅不猛薅人毛发，哪怕是被人薅了毛发，她还能凭一挂天真无邪的笑示人，更要奶声奶气地劝人住手……
Foxians are synonymous with the quick and the agile. Their lightning-fast reflexes and keen senses have resulted in this, and it also makes for cheeky, playful juvenile foxians. But Tingyun? This pointy-eared girl always looks fluffy and soft. Not only does she not vigorously pull on others' fur when meeting someone, she herself remains calm even if someone pulls on her fur. With an innocent smile and her sweet voice, she would even urge the other person to stop...
虽不难理解人性有别，但比起忙不迭拆家的同龄狐人幼童，如此不善争斗的小停云仍旧急坏了她那在天舶司双双就任武备士的双亲。见小停云继承家业不成，两位最终是断了念想，任由孩子自由发展——
It's not hard to understand differences in human nature. But compared to her foxian peers all busy tearing up their homes, Tingyun — who'd never been any good at combat — frustrated her parents who both served in the military at the Sky-Faring Commission. Seeing as Tingyun wouldn't inherit the family business, the two shook off their prejudices and let their daughter blossom freely...
于是，罗浮的贸易史上便多了一颗耀眼的新星。狐人少女凭借自身温润的性格与才华，先后连接起十六个世界的贸易使团，还与星际和平公司重订了互惠协定。仙舟人的贸易节庆「海市」，在她的力促下也成为声名远扬星海的盛典。
As a result, a dazzling new star of trade dawned aboard the Xianzhou Luofu. With her warm personality and talented skills, this foxian girl successively completed trade missions to sixteen different planets, and re-signed another bilateral agreement with the IPC. The famous Xianzhou trade bonanza — the Grand Fair — also developed into a famous fiesta under her advocacy.
角色故事·三 Character Story: Part III
说起停云的六骨叠扇，乃是工造司的机巧名物。
Speaking of Tingyun's six-ribbed reticulated fan, it is a well-known ingenium made by the Artisanship Commission.
天外行商为了防范旅行中的危险，多半会佩戴武器防身。可停云是个例外——她坚持不用任何不符合自己审美的武器：刀、枪、剑、戟之类大抵过刚过强，到底称不上软款优雅；但若用暗器如飞镖银针之流，又显得自己貌似阴狠毒辣，实在有失体面。
Most merchants carry weapons in self-defense while traveling, but Tingyun is an exception — she refuses to equip any weapons that do not conform to her style, such as blades, lances, swords, and halberds, which are strong but ungraceful. And she considers booby-traps like darts and needles to be too toxic and disgraceful.
思来想去，停云最终选定了这柄雕琢有加的叠扇。用她本人的话来解释，那便是：
After thinking over things, Tingyun finally chose this carved reticulated fan. Put into her own words, here's why:
「谈生意的人嘛，以和为贵。随身携带兵器，有伤交谊，不利商祺。」
"Business people cherish peace above all else. Carrying a weapon dishonors friendships and makes for bad business."
「我这把扇子就不同啦，平时扇扇风，凉快凉快。遇到不好说话的也给他扇扇风，消消气。若能坐下来谈谈那自然好；若不能……」
"My fan is different from a weapon. I can use it to cool myself off as well as cooling off a nasty business client. It's best if we can just have a nice chat, but if things don't go smoothly..."
「——就再用力扇他，让他哪儿凉快哪儿呆着去！」
"...Then I just have to fan them harder, and cool them off until they know I mean business!"
角色故事·四 Character Story: Part IV
然而，若想更进一步升任司舵，停云那温良的性格便要从助力变作绊脚石了——毕竟天舶司历任执掌者均是王牌飞行士，又个个是刀山火海里蹚过的战士——停云既无驾驶星槎的天分，也不善杀伤，与天舶司现任司舵驭空可谓是云泥之别。
However, if she ever hopes to be promoted to Helm Master, Tingyun's gentle personality will shift from being a strength to a stumbling block — after all, the Sky-Faring Commission has always been run by ace pilots, all of them warriors baptized by the flames of war. Meanwhile, Tingyun doesn't have the knack for driving a starskiff, let alone a skill for killing. That's the main difference between her and the current Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission, Yukong.
更何况驭空已打算将未来托付于她，她却不清楚自己是否真有资格。
What's more, Yukong has already planned on handing over the future to Tingyun, but Tingyun doesn't know if she's truly qualified to take it on.
驭空于她而言不仅仅是值得信赖的上级、又或是行商遇险时出手搭救的救命恩人；在她心中，驭空已俨然成为光芒四射的偶像。她视之为精神寄托，视之为指引前路的道标；她想攥住星光，又发现自己只能在阴影中拼命追赶。直到那孤星同她说：
To her, Yukong is not merely a trustworthy superior or even a savior during a crisis. In her heart, Yukong is also a kind of glorious idol. She views Yukong as someone to entrust her spirits in, as a beacon to guide her. She wants to hold onto that starlight, but has discovered that she can only chase in desperation from the shadows. Until one day, that lone star said to her:
「时代在变。仙舟在变。总有一天，这艘巨舰会彻底厌倦血与火的天空。到那时候，这天舶司就是属于你的舞台了。」
"Times are changing. Xianzhou is changing. One day, this giant ship will grow utterly exhausted of a sky full of blood and war. When that time comes, the Sky-Faring Commission will be your stage."
她不知这番话中有几分玩笑，但她还是认真地把这些文字装入信封，锁在本家商铺的抽屉深处。她想自己一定不能忘记。
She didn't know how much of what was said was a joke, but she carefully sealed these words into the envelope and locked it in the back of the drawer at her store. She resolved to never forget.
「即便不能驱舟上阵，也有我一展所长的机会。」狐人少女对自己说道。罗浮停泊缓航，正自与孽物的征战中休养生息，商业繁荣成了时代的底色。
"Even if I can't go into battle, there's still a chance for me to show my strength." Says the foxian girl to herself. The Luofu is currently moored in orbit, undergoing re-invigoration after a campaign against the abominations. Flourishing commerce becomes the backdrop to this era.
少女明白驭空的期许，遂奔向星空，寻求更多的盟助与交谊。
Understanding Yukong's expectations of her, Tingyun flies beyond the skies, seeking more alliances and friendships.
「论当今罗浮舵术之首为谁，人们常以驭空大人为冠绝。可若要问我的意见嘛……」
