冬天的猴子

Monkeys in winter,

吃着海豹的鲜肉

feast on the seals' raw flesh,

泡着硫磺的浴缸

and soak in a bathtub for sulfur baths.

石化的鲸鱼残骸里渗出油污

Oil seeping from the petrified whale remains,

涂抹着没有月亮的漆黑星空

paints the moonless pitch-black sky.

那是人人都爱的沥青

That beloved asphalt,

能建造不漏水的房子

can build waterproof houses.

冬天的猴子在电杆上合唱

Monkeys in winter chorus atop power poles,

唱着银河电台里最流行的节拍

singing the trendiest beats from cosmic radio,

笑话那些一身土气的青蛙

mocking those rustic frogs.

他们说自己很快就会长出翅膀

They say they'll soon grow wings,

比游隼更能在自由的青空下翱翔

soaring freer than falcons in the azure sky.

那到时青蛙只会留下悔恨的泪水

Then the frogs will shed only tears of regret,

成为他们最廉价的笑话拌料

becoming their cheapest joke seasoning.

猴子们于是先笑出了眼泪

So the monkeys laughed until they cried,

只是这眼泪并没有带来月亮

yet these tears brought no moon.
